This highly interactive workshop builds a practical introduction to the insurance and reinsurance landscape through group challenges, guided discussion, and applied activities.
Attendees will develop a working understanding of essential terminology, major classes of business, and the different roles that operate within the insurance market. The session also explores how insurance features in current events and introduces reinsurance in clear, practical terms, including its purpose, structures, benefits, participants, and key language, supported by scenario-based examples. For the final challenge of the day, participants will participate in a physical Reinsurance simulation game. Working in teams, participants navigate the full placement process — from assessing reinsurance needs to building broker submissions and negotiating market terms. Along the way, they’ll balance reinsurer ratings, pricing, claims expertise and risk committee preferences to create the most effective programme.
Running from 10:00 to 16:00, the session is designed primarily for those at an early stage in their insurance career.
Delivery is face to face at a central London location. Lunch and refreshments are included.
